Note: Since publication of Distorted Nature, a female orca calf was born at Marineland of Canada on May 27, 1998. The mother was Nootka; the father was Kandu. The calf died at 11 days of age on June 7, 1998. A male orca calf was born at Marineland on September 15, 1998. His mother was Kiska, and his father, Kandu.
